My Students
My students are an energetic group of learners. They come to school excited to learn, discover, and explore. We are a neighborhood school with a diverse population of students. The parents, teachers, and school community are dedicated to making sure my students have everything they need to meet the common core standards and more.
Whole group instruction is an integral part of our day.
It is a block of time where I can introduce key lessons and encourage my students to participate in collaborative conversations.
My Project
My students are learning to express their thoughts with detailed pictures and writing. They are also learning to respond to literature. The draw and write journals are perfect resource for my students because they provide space to draw a picture and then record their detailed thoughts and ideas. The journals help the students with proper letter spacing which make writing easier for them. The journals also will give my students an opportunity to respond to classroom prompts and share their thoughts and feelings. Having an area to draw a picture is helpful to those students who are still having difficulty using phonetic spelling. they can express themselves through a picture.
