Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Remember when you had a story that you could not wait to write? It could have been completely made up or a true story. When you finally finished that story, remember how proud you felt? I have 35 children who need to feel that accomplishment!

My 35 amazing students are bright and curious children, who are becoming more independent each day!

My students attend a high poverty, public, elementary school in Pennsylvania. We are a Title One, low income school. Since many of our students come from a home where food is not always plentiful, all students are served breakfast in the classroom. We are heavily populated with English Language Learners. Having such a large ELL population makes each classroom very diverse and full of life, but it also comes with a fair share of challenges.

My Project

My students will be able to become self-confident writers! They will be able to have the proper tools to learn how to create a narrative, informational, or opinion writing sample. My amazing children are learning that our classroom is a safe area where we can make mistakes. By having erasers, pencils, paper and a sharpener - this will only help their development for a love of writing.

We are in a district with a very tight supply budget for schools.

Our families cannot afford the supplies for their children. This project will help bridge the gap and get our students to become proficient writers!
