My Project

The books I’m requesting will provide students with access to diverse, high-quality reading material that will cater to various reading levels and interests. By having a more varied selection, students will be more motivated to read, which will help improve their literacy skills. These books will support their comprehension, vocabulary growth, and critical thinking abilities, and allow them to see themselves reflected in the stories they read.

My main goal for this project is to foster a love for reading and learning in my students by giving them access to books that engage and inspire them.

I aim to build a classroom library that encourages independent reading, supports literacy development, and offers students the tools to explore new topics and ideas. I also want to ensure that students have books that are culturally relevant and reflective of their own experiences, as well as those that expand their horizons.

My students are incredibly curious, creative, and eager to learn. Many come from diverse backgrounds and have unique stories to tell, which makes them especially open to exploring books that reflect their lives and challenge their imaginations. They are at an age where building strong reading habits can have a lasting impact on their academic and personal growth. Despite challenges they may face outside the classroom, they show up every day with determination and a thirst for knowledge.
