Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a second-grade teacher in a dual language program in the Bronx. I currently have 32 students in my classroom! My students absolutely love reading and miss having access to books in our classroom library. Many of our students are learning from home and have limited access to books. Although students have the opportunity to read books online for free, they miss being able to hold a book and turn the pages of their series.

Given the situation with COVID-19, it’s more important than ever that children are provided with opportunities to have a collection of books to access at home.

My Project

The materials will be distributed to students to help them continue developing their love for reading. Students are currently reading books online, but they miss the joy of turning the pages of their favorite books.

Please help me get books into the hands of my students and brings some sense of normalcy into their homes.

Your generous donation will get 2-3 books into the home of each student. Students will have the opportunity to add their books to their home library and use them during independent reading! Reading is Power!
