My Students

"The more you read, the more things you know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." -Dr. Seuss said it best; reading is the key to success and reading in kindergarten has now become more important than ever. We build the foundation and it needs to be a firm one.

My kindergarten students are fun and are eager to learn just about anything.

They are excited to come to school every day and to be a part of our campus. They are such creatures of habit; they even let me know when I forget to do something or if we alter our schedule. Our parents are always eager to be involved and help the class or our school in any way. They are very supportive and appreciative of the hard work that the teachers put in each day. Our school is the best, because each teacher and staff member works hard to make each student successful.

My Project

My students need fiction and nonfiction book collections for our class library, including samplers sets from some favorite series, such as The Magic Tree House, Puppy Mudge and National Geographic Readers. My students will use these books in our classroom library. They use the library during our Daily 5 time, specifically during read to self and read to someone. Right now, we have some books, but I would like to build it up so that the students will have more of a selection to choose from. My student's reading levels vary so much that I am asking for pre-K levels up to second grade. This way, as they progress through the year, there will still be a variety of books for them to read.

If you help fund this project, you will be putting more books in my student's hands.

This will ensure future success for these students, because "the more you read, the more you know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go (Dr. Seuss)". You learn most of what you know from books. So please consider helping us go places.
