My Students

My students need to discover the joy of reading. They need to have direct access to books.

My students are in first grade.

Many of them are ESOL students. English is not their primary language. In Florida we have started working with exemplary text, and we need the students to become familiar with these types of books in order to succeed in first grade.

My Project

I am requesting exemplary text for my students. My students need a Common Core Exemplar Text Library, book boxes, and Language, Writing, and Reading Teaching Centers for Common Core. We will be working on reading comprehension. In addition, students will be focusing in their writing skills. It is important for the children at this early age to begin the writing process in first grade.

My project is very important due to the fact that these children need to have access to resources to teach the Common Core standards in the areas of reading and writing.

With these materials, it will be easier for my students to achieve and succeed in reading and writing.
