Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The population of students that attend my school are mainly high poverty children. Their parents are predominantly low income, and hard working people. Some of my students live only with their mothers and siblings renting a room in a house. My students are enrolled in the Pre-K For All program at the school that I teach in. I have 18, 4-year-old students. I also have a teacher's assistant. My students are very eager to learn. They come in every day with a smile on their face ready to learn.

My Project

My classroom is dull and boring. What do I mean? Without music, there is no movement, there is no teaching about patterns, about instruments.

My students love to hear music in the classroom while we are working in our centers.

Since my teaching assistant had to teach remotely, there has been silence. She had to leave and so was her speaker. I have tried using the laptop, desktop, to no avail. We can't hear the music through those devices over our busy voices, building, conversing, and working together. That is the beauty of the Pre-k classroom, noisy.

I have had enough. Please someone buy this speaker so we can hear music everyday while we work. We need music in our lives.
