Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a proud teacher of 13 energetic, curious and talented first and second graders. The best way that they learn is by visualizing and technology is a great tool that I use in class. In these last years, students are using more technology during their learning program. Creating responsible, independent thinkers is at the top of my list! Technology plays a huge role in education and not all of my students are able to have access to computers in school or at home.

My Project

Learning is different for every student; this is especially true when working with students with special needs such as ASD. For these special students, working on a device really helps grasp and keep their attention. My goal is to bring more meaningful work to my class by using technology. Since some of my students come from low-income homes, which means that some of them don’t have access to computers or Wi-Fi at home, these laptops will help bridge the gap of opportunities. The items in this project will allow students to be more successful by providing critical digital practice and adaptive learning programs, and improve their reading and math skills using different online programs provided at school.

Right now we only have two computers in the classroom and these additional two laptops will give students more opportunities to use the technology during school time.

Technology plays such an important role in student's learning, not just by the teachers, but also by the District-required program.
