My Students

I teach an Intellectually Disabled class with eight students at a Title l School. My students range in ages from 4-7 years old and are in TK-1st grade. The population of my special education classroom has disabilities ranging from Autism to Intellectually Disabled.

I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences despite the needs and age diversity in my classroom.

Many of my students have sensory needs that your donation will help provide.

My Project

Many of my students who have autism have sensory needs. These calming sensory activities help my students maintain focus and balance their sensory systems, which makes it easier to teach new skills and have more quality interaction during instruction and small group time.

The use of Play Doh, Kinetic Sand, sensory rings and other assorted fidget objects help reduce stress and anxiety.

They help to increase the focus that is so greatly needed to assist them to continue learning new skills.

The Clorox Wipes will definitely help to keep our classroom technology clean, germ free and wipe away all the little finger smudges!
