My Students

Imagine being hungry for knowledge and the opportunity to find that knowledge is constantly out of reach. My students are desperate to access information through technology but with only one computer in the classroom, it is a rare opportunity.

My students are a rare mixture of intelligent, honest, hard working, and caring young people.

In two years, they will be moving on to middle school and they desperately need the experience of working with and becoming comfortable with technology. Many of my students do not have access at home to this technology and we can give them the boost they need to continue their academic success.

My Project

Having immediate access to research through the Internet will inspire my students to continually look for answers to the millions of questions they have. Having a reading tablet like the Nook with Internet access will assist my students in their quest for research. It will also give my students access to different books and periodicals with will help their fluency and reading skills.

This project will give my current class as well as future classes the ability to access information almost instantly through the Internet.

While working on social studies or science for example, if a student has a question about a certain subject, without interrupting the lesson, he/she can immediately research and share that new information!
