My Students

My students come from various socioeconomic, race, religious, and cultural backgrounds. They are bright-eyed and excited about learning. My students love learning and engaging in meaningful activities.

Our classroom fosters a love for learning through different experiences.

Many students do not have the background knowledge that you would expect a child their age to have. I try to provide students with experiences that will impact their lives not only while they are in my classroom but that they can take with them throughout their lives.

My Project

My students and I read all the time in class. Our classroom is a place for stories and imagination. No matter the level of a student, they always enjoy becoming part of the story and meeting the characters. When each student has a copy of the book in hand as we read, it allows them to take ownership of the story. I strive to bring reading alive so that we can work together to improve their reading abilities so that they can continue to explore new worlds and stories outside of the classroom.

Reading as a class lets my students better understand the material and ask questions about the story.

We question what as happened, make predicts for the future, and ultimately react to the story together. A class set of books will help my students continue to progress and improve in their journey to become lifelong, independent learners!
