My Students
I teach at a Title I school in Southeastern Virginia. My students are eager to learn and love to be back in school this year. Many of my students come to school from violent neighborhoods. School is a safe and happy place for them. Our school is proud to have many ESL students from around the world. 100% of our students get free breakfast, lunch and dinner. I am so happy to be their teacher because they are so eager to learn. It makes me so proud to see them blossom and become lifelong learners.
My Project
My students absolutely love graphic novels. We have a few in our classroom library and they are constantly being checked out and read over and over again by the class. By fulfilling this project I can provide my students with a plethora of new and diverse graphic novels for them to read.
Our school is very diverse and I would like to be able to provide graphic novels that are diverse as well! Students would love to see themselves reflected in the books they read. It is so nice to see students get excited about books and eager to get their hands on another when they finish.
