Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

John Green argues that we read books to live lives other than our own. My 7th and 8th grade students love to experience alternate realities—they like to imagine walking in someone else’s shoes.

This is exactly what we want junior high students to be doing—building empathy!

At the present, we have books in our classroom library that are great, classic reads, but some could use an update—the Shakespeare and Milton aren’t getting checked out as often as I’d hoped!

We love all kinds of books!

We could use some new books with fresh voices! Join me in creating a classroom environment that honors many, many stories.
