Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

A world without art would be a very sad and mundane place to live. Fortunately for me, my students are bursting with creativity and vivid imaginations, which is an amazing thing. I want to help nurture the “if you can dream it, you can achieve it” attitude, and this starts with art.

I would like to give my students the ability to experiment with different materials and let them see what their hands are capable of making through the creation of posters, building of dioramas, clay projects, and more.

Being that art is cross curricular this artistic expression can easily branch into other areas such as literature, science, social studies, etc. This will open up the door to learning for some students that regular teaching does not. It will allow the right side of the brain to work and give different opportunities for success that many of these students need.

The supplies I am requesting include Model Magic air dry clay, art paper, supply boxes and basic supplies such as crayons, markers, glue, and pencils. The supply boxes will allow them to store their materials in a safe and organized place until needed. I also asked for manila folders to place on the wall for each student. As each new project gets created it will get added to the art gallery wall for others to admire.

Any donation to help bring these supplies to the classroom and allow my students to express their creative side would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for all of your help!
