Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

“We did it! We did it!” my students exclaimed across the room as they worked together to put together a class puzzle. As a class, we worked as a team to put together our class puzzle. It took several days for my students to complete, but they never gave up and worked together as a team. After several days when they finally completed it they were filled with excitement and were extremely proud of themselves. As a teacher, there is not a better feeling than seeing my students take pride in their work and accomplishing their goals.

My students are enthusiastic and motivated learners that inspire me every day.

As a teacher in low income/Title 1 school, my students are faced with various challenges in and outside of the classroom. Despite the challenges that my students face, they show up every day with a positive attitude and excited to learn.

My students are an energetic group of students eager to learn. They are curious about the world and bring a positive attitude to class daily. My students love to move around, talk, dream, ask questions, and to explore.

My Project

Who likes sitting in hard plastic school chairs for hours? I know I sure don’t, so why do we force our students to? I don’t believe we should and that is why I am learning to embrace the wiggles! A goal I have in my class is to provide my students a flexible learning environment that allows each one of my students to feel comfortable and to grow in their learning. To achieve this my students need flexible seating to increase their student engagement and allow them to wiggle while they learn. Research shows that flexible seating can release excess energy as the students stabilize themselves. In addition, it also improves student engagement and burns more calories.

These stools and cushions will increase my students' engagement and help them focus on learning.

These seating options will assist in our positive and comfortable learning environment.
