Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In the age of technology, students are becoming less active and engage in less forms of in person communication. By using Kan Jam equipment, I plan to scaffold different forms of movement and skill through various Kan Jam activities. Kan Jam games will allow students to improve and master different skill sets. Students can then apply their skills in more complex and/or competitive games. The ultimate goal is to provide students with an enjoyable experience that allows them to pursue continued play at their leisure.

Not only will Kan Jam games teach basic physical activity skills, but also practice the interpersonal skills that students struggle with.

Kan Jam games can be played in small or large groups. These interactions allow students to practice speaking to each other and building relationships. Students learn to use positive motivational words to help peers feel comfortable and successful.

The projector tripods will be used to differentiate content for students with special needs. I have a high population of students with disabilities and/or English Language Learners (ELL). In the locker room where lecture classes are often held, we have limited space. These tripods will give e the space I need to show word walls, videos, and demonstrations to keep students engaged and learning. This will also allow students to learn more about other cultures and languages as we explore these new concepts. Together we “Kan” achieve!
