My Students

"Make sure you get a few books from our classroom library!"

This was something I said again and again on what was potentially the last day with my students in our classroom.

Hundreds of books left my shelves to fill their homes in this unknown time.

Each day I interact with over 90 sixth grade students, answering questions, conducting daily Zoom meetings, and just checking in. Our state just got word that we are out of school until the next school year. Despite their home lives, my students are still participating and staying engaged.

My Project

Books. Books. Books. While transitioning to distance learning, I've noticed my students want MORE books. They are searching for a sense of normalcy, and these books will help provide just that.

The students want books that will transport them out of our current world.

These books will allow me to continue to have read-alouds in a new way.

The tripod will allow me to create daily videos without struggling to place the camera properly. When we finally return home, all of these items will be put to use daily.

This time is very overwhelming for all. These items will be a big positive contribution to our digital journey.
