My Students

We have green thumbs! My class of 30 second graders sure love our new garden. They LOVE to watch our garden grown AND watch it take life each day. It is tough for them to all take part in this activity through. We only have a few watering cans.

I teach an AMAZING group of second graders that are adventurous, risk takers and ready to take on any challenge you put in front of them.

I have 30 students in one class of 7 to 8 year olds and we have a new garden! I want to give ALL of my AMAZING students the tools that will allow them the gardening experience they deserve. Allowing each of my student to water at the same time, not only cuts down on the time we are out in the sun, get the job done in a shorter amount of time but most importantly allows ALL of my students to participate in the activity at the same time.

My Project

Like I said, we have a green thumb! We love to be in our garden, watch all of our flowers, fruits and vegetables grow, learn about farm to table and water everything! However, we only have a few watering cans, so only a few students can water and monitor our garden at a time. They inspired me to take action! My student came up with idea to get MORE watering cans so everyone can participate! They are so smart!

This kid-inspired project offers EVERY (all 30) student in our classroom the opportunity to learn about farm to table, nutrient dense foods, and consuming, all while we EVERYONE is watering!

This is an exciting opportunity! This opportunity will allow my students peer-to-peer learning while outside in our already growing garden full of fruits, vegetables and flowers! They love to work together, and now they can!
