Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students love to play instruments. My youngest students have been learning about West African music this year and they love to play drums. The hallways are literally full of music. Our school secretary always comments on how she can hear us playing the drums all the way in the main office.

Having a drum set will help my students begin to learn to play the music they hear and play outside of school.

You hear drums in the music on the radio, through a streaming service, or on YouTube. Even the most shy student loves to sit in front of a drum set and rock out.

We have an electric guitar, an electric bass, and electric keyboards from other grants. We just need a drum set to start a school band!
