My Students

At our elementary school, we have wonderful students who are eager and ready to learn about music! Many of our 375 Kindergarten through 5th-grade students come from low-income/high poverty households. Every child in our school has their own set of talents and strengths. Playing instruments together will help our students to work together as a team and foster a sense of school community.

Due to current budget limitations, our music budget has decreased but our need for various musical supplies to teach our curriculum has remained the same.

My students are in need of classroom percussion instruments to support our rhythm reading skills and begin to build a multi-cultural percussion section.

My Project

Rhythm sticks, woodblocks, and various other percussion instruments would allow students to reinforce their rhythmic literacy skills, as well as improve their improvisation skills in a fun and economically efficient way. By allowing every students to have an instrument in their hands we can help to foster teamwork and listening skills which are a valuable tool that can be applied to all aspects of life.

By supporting this project you will help ensure that students have a hands-on experience in class and allow them to put their music literacy skills into practice.

The smiles on the students faces and sense of accomplishment will be priceless and something they will always remember.
