Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a group of wonderful and energetic kids from the Soundview section of the Bronx. We love reading and writing almost as much as we love math.

We come to school every day eager to learn new things!

We are motivated and determined to succeed. We come together as a caring and responsible community. We value respect, hard work and dedication.

We love to learn and grow together! Sometimes we face challenges as we are a Title I school and lack classroom materials to create fond memories of our elementary school years.

My Project

These books will help us prepare for what life gives them and learn how to handle any obstacle that comes their way with grace and dignity. Growing up in the Bronx can be extremely difficult for any individual, but it is even more difficult when you are an adolescent who is trying to make the right decisions and further your education. Many obstacles will come your way and you must be prepared to overcome and shine through those difficult times. Through these books, they will be able to visualize a world they have only heard about and make real world connection with each character.
