My Students

Most of the students at our school come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They are always eager to learn, but frustration settles in with many because some are years below grade level academically or have experienced trauma in their lives. They work hard every day to beat the odds and strive for greatness. Many of them look forward to the five days in the week where they get to learn, grow, and explore!

My Project

We are always finding ways to continuously push positive behavior as well as cultivate and promote SEL among students. We want our students to enjoy coming to school amid the current pandemic. Our Lighthouse Team has created a school-wide system where students can earn "points" based on their positive behavior. These points can be used at our school store where students can purchase items such as pencils, sketchbooks, play dough, coloring books, bubbles, etc. The higher the points, the better the prize!

We want to reward our students for making positive choices every day.

We're in need of more supplies to reward our amazing students.
