This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Hello! I am a third grade teacher in Brooklyn, New York. I teach in a Title 1 school.
The building I teach in is an old one, with old wiring and outlets. Because of this, many of the classrooms do not have air conditioners, including mine. On hot days, it is difficult for the children to concentrate. It is also dangerous for the students who have asthma. This June, the temperature in my classroom reached 100 degrees! The heat drove the students and I out of our classroom, and we had to stay in another room for 3 days!
Since the room cannot hold an air conditioner, tower fans would be a wonderful alternative. They are thin, unobtrusive fans that work better than standing fans. They work quietly too.
These fans would help control the temperature in my classroom and help the children keep their mind off the heat. Please help my students and I keep our cool!
