My Students

I teach second grade at a public school located in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, New York. I have the cutest group of children. They are all so special in there own special ways. We are a Title I school, and most of the children come from low-income, non-English speaking homes. Many of them come to school just to have a meal and someone to actually care about them.

Things we often take for granted are often hard for them to get.

I'm looking for ways for the children to get a better understanding and a love for school.

My Project

Children often share their supplies. We need to keep our children safe from Covid, and the children are going to need their own supplies. Unfortunately, I work in a low income community, and we often share our supplies. This year, that won’t work. I need to have the children have their own individual baggies of supplies that the can bring home to use and then bring it back to the classroom to use. This will keep the children from sharing and I will keep them safe in this uncertain time.
