My Project

Working with children has always been one of my greatest joys. My classroom students add to this joy by their warm and outgoing personalities and their enthusiasm for learning. Every day I have the extreme pleasure of being surrounded by the most zealous and curious learners on the planet, and I absolutely love teaching and learning alongside my fabulous bunch of fifth graders.

My goal for this project is to secure a large screen Samsung tablet that would help to improve the learning opportunities for my visually challenged and hard of hearing learners.

The device will be placed in a designated area enabling those students to see and hear me more accurately while I am teaching a lesson. This not only allows me to accommodate their learning needs more effectively but will also help to increase the potential for deeper understanding, improve the levels of engagement and participation, and help to boost the confidence of those scholars. The students will also use the device interactively and collaboratively during class to complete assigned tasks and to conduct research.

While our school has a partnership with eye doctors who visit the school to administer vision checks, it takes quite a long time for the students to receive their glasses and so a lot of valuable learning opportunities are lost by those students who are unable to see the board clearly.

I know that you too believe that every wasted learning opportunity is a stumbling block to our youngsters and threatens the future of our society. I therefore take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your generous donations which will make it possible for my students extend their gratitude to you and to joyfully declare, “We can see clearly now!”
