My Project

Books, books and books. The reviews of the 18 book set of Elephants and Pigs revealed that the books promote friendship, empathy, and understanding, and above all, it comes with meaningful dialogues. The other books are all visually engaging, easy to read stories that can engage my students while supporting their limited reading skills.

My goal is to help my students to be able to read basic words and things around them for survival.

My students are special in that I teach students on the Alternate curriculum which is a special education classroom. Most of my students though in the 8th grade are still struggling with reading basic kindergarten and first grade words. Their attention to books without pictures or sounds is deficit. Visually engaging books will not only draw their attention but will help support their reading skills.
