The students in my class are excited and eager to learn. My students are joyful, energetic, creative and always so much fun to be around! They come from a variety of backgrounds and have a wide range of educational experiences. Most of my students come from low-income homes where they have had limited exposure to reading. Some students have experienced some form of previous education while others do not know how to hold a book. All of my students are capable of growing and learning inside the classroom.
My students have so much to learn whether they need to learn how to tie their shoes, letter sounds, adding or writing.
My students have the potential to do amazing things and I loving being able to help them grow.
My Project
The books requested will make a difference in my student's learning because they are aligned with standards they will need to learn in kindergarten. It is important to integrate reading across other subject areas to show students that reading can be fun and can help us learn all kinds of information.
These books will help my students learning the material they need to learn in kindergarten, but in a way that gets them excited about reading books!
The books "What If Everybody Said That?" and "What If Everybody Did That?" will be great for morning meeting time when we are learning about making good choices in the classroom and taking care of the materials around us. "This Is How We Do It" will be a great read during our culture unit to teach students about kids like them who live around the world. "Clothesline Clues to Jobs People Do", "When I Grow Up" and "Whose Tools Are These?" will all be great resources when my students are learning about community helpers. They will be able to listen and read stories to teach them about all the different community helpers.
"The Color Monster" and "Duck and Goose" will be a good book to teach students about how characters or other people may be feeling in a way that is understandable and approachable to them. "Living Things and Nonliving Things" and "The Tiny Seed" will be a great way to teach my students about living and nonliving things that they see around them every day! Not only will I be reading all of these books with my students but they will also get to learn to read and love these books on their own too, which will help them develop their own love for reading!
