Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergartners, while among the youngest in our school community, will be working just as hard as the big kids! Their first exposure to schooling is critical in creating a life-long love of learning. My goal is to have students enter as the little kids and emerge as articulate thinkers and speakers. My diverse learners come from a variety of backgrounds, yet come together to create a community that is unique to our school.

Our neighborhood and school are unique, with nearly one hundred percent of students qualifying for free lunch and several homeless shelters with children being served by our school.

However, we have heart in abundance!

My students are already striving for success! While they may be young, they are already looking toward the future. The Bronx is only the beginning! Your support is appreciated!

My Project

It is true that the 2020-2021 school year has and will be unlike any other. Students are learning in school and at home, which has never been done before. Students are expected to increase their independence in ways they've never done before.

The generous donation of Fire tablets will ensure my students have access to technology to give them the independence needed to prepare them for 21st Century learning.

With the use of the tablets, students will be able to independently use learning applications. These applications can help students improve their phonemic awareness, a crucial skill for reading.

Students will be able to play engaging mathematics games to improve their skills while having fun! Additionally, students will be able to access digital libraries to engage with text at their just right reading levels and beyond. These tablets would be an invaluable asset to our learning.
