My Students

I am an upper-grade elementary teacher hoping to change the lives of my students through teaching. Our vision as a school is that students learn through play, hands-on experiences, technology integration, design thinking, building, and all while making mistakes that lead them to new discoveries. Our belief is that all children can be creative risk-takers that solve real-world problems when provided with the right tools. We believe they are capable of changing the world. We just need to make sure we are prepared to guide them!

Our students need to be prepared for a future that is ever-changing and prepares them to utilize their creativity and problem solving skills.

In order to be successful at changing our world, the future requires creative problem solvers. As an educator, I know that each child deserves the opportunity to learn, create, and explore and this project will help me cultivate the skills necessary for my class to challenge themselves and excel in problem solving.

My Project

My classroom is a place for students to be able to be challenged, enjoy mathematics, and be in an environment where they feel successful! I also want to provide my class with the opportunity to work on problem solving skills and spacial reasoning! Having Rubik's Cubes in the classroom will allow us to do just that.

I believe every student can be successful and building that feeling into mathematics is essential to them believing that too.

With these Rubik's cubes, students will be able to work on their mathematical skills. This will push students to critically solve problems and allow them to develop better stamina in other areas. They will be able to work together, create strategies, and even share those strategies with others! This project will also allow me to do class activities with the cubes and work towards our goal of every student learning how to solve the cube algorithm!

My hope is students will choose to be Cube solvers and be motivated to explore math in new ways that challenge them and push them to be better mathematicians!
