Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The children I have this year have not known a classroom setting without the threat of Covid. They may have been homeschooled. They may have missed weeks of school due to illness. They may have seen their parents/families scared of the new virus. The definitely missed the opportunity to learn how to socialize, express/identify feelings and emotions, and resolve conflicts.

I have requested writing prompts, and book sets to explicitly teach and discuss social emotional situations.

I have requested a large table (and manipulative)so that students can sit together as they work and play together. Naturally socializing and practicing lessons. I have requested a comfy chair so that a child may sit alone to gather thoughts or try to make sense of their feelings.
