Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am extremely proud of the student council students. Our school has not had a student council for many years. This year we brought the council back. At the beginning of the year, I introduced the roles and duties of the council to all upper grade students.
Without really knowing what they would be responsible for, 22 brave kids signed up and formed our first council in years.
These kids have worked hard all year. Among their accomplishments, they have started Friday morning spirit day assembly, a weekly broadcast to deliver the weeks news and announcements, the held two community services where they collected personal hygiene items for the Los Angeles Mission. They also collected items to donate to the brave firefighters that fought the Los Angeles fires in January.
I would love to celebrate their accomplishments with an end of the year celebration. Their parents and family will be invited to see all of the amazing things that these students have done to bring up school and community spirit. In order to help them feel even more accomplished, we need to have amazing decorations. We need ballon arch stands, balloons and tablecloths to make their celebrating beautiful and professional looking.
By helping provide these supplies you will inspire my students to continue being leaders in school and help build the sense of community responsibility as well as leadership and planning skills.
