My Project

This project will provide the necessary tools that we don't have to support a safe and appropriate learning environment about the cycle from egg to hatched chick. Students will watch as embryos develop in the incubator and then learn to safely care for them in the incubator after they hatch. Students LOVE our farm unit and get excited each year when I bring eggs in for hatching.

Students will get hands-on experience with preparing the incubator with food, water, and shavings and making sure the lamps are plugged in to keep the chicks warm after they hatch.

This will enable them to learn about responsibilities, caring for live animals, and the cycle of egg development.

As we focus our learning on understanding our environment and the life around us, this is an opportunity for students in kindergarten through fourth grade to have a hands-on role in taking care of the needs of something other than ourselves. Students will ensure the animals have food and water before they leave for the weekend.
