This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students do not come from the wealthiest families. They do not have the best things. They are low-income, immigrant families, mainly from Spanish-speaking countries. They work hard and care about education.
We live in NY and go to an NYC public school.
They try their best every day. The students all get free lunch and most of the supplies they have are the basics; pencils, paper, book bags, and the supplies needed for daily school life. I try to supply as much as I can to lift the burden of money from the families.
My Project
A new way to teach. A new way to learn. Not a bad thing. Change is not easy for any of us right now. With the experience of teaching remotely from March to June with a basic old computer I had at home, I realized that with a better laptop, it will be a little easier. I will be able to use the interactive lessons for all subjects where the students will participate as well as be able to display short videos to enrich learning.
I am asking for a new Dell laptop to be used for teaching the students.
Right now we are teaching half the children remotely while the other half is in the building. This computer will help with speed and allow me the ability to create new and better educational materials for my students.
