My Students

Our students come from all over Brooklyn- as we are a district school serving many different neighborhoods. This makes our school community diverse and unique. Our students come from varying backgrounds and culture. Our students are all 3-5 years of age and are at a point in their development where scientific thinking meets imaginative exploration. We are an inquiry-based school, where curiosity and creativity fuel our curriculum. Our students learn through open-ended questioning, exploring the process (not just results) and of course, play!

My Project

Young children are naturally curious. The desire to question, hypothesize, explore, and investigate is part of their very being. This inherent sense of inquiry provides the foundation for scientific learning.

My Pre-K students are actively exploring the natural world both inside and outside of our classroom.

They enjoy investigating objects that were discovered on journeys or shared by our students and their families on adventures outside of school. My students need a new rug to meet on and discuss their findings in the science center. We are also excited to use the digital projector to display our findings and share our documentation.

Additionally, I want to provide them with materials that will inspire further curiosity and learning. This project includes a smaller rug to build on as well as new materials and tools to explore! This project includes new measuring equipment, new sensory materials for our sand and light tables as well as assorted building manipulatives for children to explore in their super science center.
