My Project

My students are magnificent! I tell them daily that they are already great and as they learn more they will become greater! Their love for science and robotics has magnified daily. In the classroom and during afterschool STEAM activities the smiles on their faces brighten the day!

Our students will compete in their own Hackathon to demonstrate academic understanding of our science and robotics curriculum.

The Hackathon will be an intense, exciting a fun way that the students utilize things learned from their daily lesson plans to design a solution to a problem (I.e. homelessness, childhood obesity, substance abuse, etc.). These resources identified as a need to make the Hackathon successful as it is focused on STEAM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics).

The items received will assist each student in completing their overall project to design a solution to a problem that aligns with their science curriculum. They will design logos for their project create their own shirts that they will wear to present their final Hackathon project. The heat press, printer, heat press/printer supplies, and t shirts will represent their Hackathon theme, business name (entrepreneurship), and team design.

All supplies (decorations, etc.) listed will be used at their Hackathon using coding, apps, website creation, social media posts, and prototypes. Their parents, principals from future high schools and community leaders will attend. Our hope is that the students may gain mentorship, acceptance into the application schools they may have applied for.
