My Students

In these unprecedented times we would have never imagined that when we said good bye in March that it was our last day we would be together physically.

My students and I have embarked on this distance learning journey.

We are actively engaged in google classroom, google meet and classdojo.

They are creative and eager to learn. I believe in them and I believe with the right resources they can achieve greatness.

Our school is a Title I school. Living in a low socio economic school community, our student population is predominantly in temporary housing or in shelters. We provide 100% free breakfast and lunch to our students. 10% of our students are experiencing homelessness.

My students are eager to learn and are excited when they can experience new ways of learning.

My Project

There are many reasons why an easel should be used in an elementary setting. During the remote learning I would like to maintain the same learning that I do when I am in my classroom. With an easel, I could model different concepts in all subjects by providing visuals of charts and other graphic organizers.

An easel is a great way to promote shared writing and reading.

During my live instruction, I can write the message and have presentation charts ready and visible for my learners. Easels are a great way to engage students in the read aloud. The students are then able to tell events and ask questions. I can also model writing by having an easel. Children need a lot of modeling and scaffolding to make them become better readers and writers.
