Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach full-day preschool with children from many different backgrounds. We are a Title I school. The preschool program is free to these families thanks to a state grant. However, we rely on donations to fund all the supplies and other classroom needs.

Pretends play and culture exposer are very beneficial for young children to develop their fine motor and language skills.

The multi-age preschool students at our school are creative thinkers who love to explore pretend play freely and share their ideas. By exploring the materials listed(felt shapes and bells through process pretend play, my students will have the opportunity to practice communication and fine motor skills and meet their sensory needs. These items will help with our upcoming Christmas play and fine motor, getting these preschoolers' fingers ready to write their names. My goal for this project is to expose all these elements to my students and prepare them for kindergarten next school year.

What makes my students special is that they are always ready to learn new things, and with these new materials, that is precisely what I can show them in the classroom. My students are always prepared to help out and ready to learn.
