Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom of adorable 4-year-olds eager and curious about the world around them. The children are involved in many activities throughout the day.

For example, the children engage with their peers in choice time center activities that involve many opportunities for hands-on learning, growing, and socializing.

I would like the opportunity to engage my students more, as they learn through play every day.

My Project

A large part of our day in Pre-K involves the children interacting in different learning center stations. One of the learning centers in my classroom is the Math center. The children very rarely go to this center because we lack the materials necessary to engage and entice them to want to learn about math. We are in need of engaging, hands-on materials to help teach the Pre-K students about skills such as making and extending patterns, sorting by attributes (color, shape, size), graphing, numbers and counting, and much much more. It is for this reason that I am asking for a measurement light up game to teach the skill of measurement, journals to practice the skill of counting and one to one match, hands on trays for the students to use for patterning, sorting ang graphing, and family engagement math packs so that the families of my students can reinforce what we are learning in school. By donating to this project, you will be giving me the opportunity to better help my students in math, thus making a difference in their learning and improve their school lives.
