My Students

I am proud to be teaching an excited group of fourth graders who will be returning to in-person learning after almost 18 months of remote learning and being away from their peers. 100% of the students in my class qualify to receive free lunch and are from low-income families, yet their passion for learning has been consistent and I look forward to re-engaging them in exciting learning experiences and adventures.

I have students with mixed abilities, some of whom are struggling readers and whose first language is not English.

It is always my goal to provide a learning environment where all my students are afforded an equitable opportunity to experience success as they continue to grow as learners who are willing to take risks and learn from making mistakes.

I believe that despite the challenges my students face, we will enjoy a year of discovering new things as we venture into STEM learning, and incorporating the 4 C's: critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication. My number one goal this year is to expose my girls and boys to more opportunities in exploring engineering and technology in addition to the core subject areas.

My Project

As we return to focusing on in-person teaching and learning, the items requested in this project will provide ample opportunities for my girls and boys to enjoy ongoing hands-on experiences as they collaborate and exchange ideas as they learn coding and engineering design skills through project-based learning.

I invite you to partner with me in providing young learners with equitable opportunities to learn 21st century skills, using simple lessons that teach them to code and design by learning the basics in computer science and computer programming.

Together we can make it happen.
