My Students
This year there is a lot of focus on independent reading. There is also a grade competition for the class with students who read the most books each month. The students are really excited and are on a roll. I have students who are bilingual; some of them are just learning English.
My Project
Let the reading begins! Students are engaged in independent reading in the 7th grade. We are so excited as our students are engaged in independent reading and engaging in a friendly, grade-wide, reading competition. Some of our students are already on their 4th book since the school year began.
In 7th grade, we have a lot of ELL students.
Although they are learning English, we believe that students should also read content that they are comfortable reading. This project will be very impactful to my students because my students will have more options for books in Spanish and Arabic to read.
