My Students
As we embark on a new school year, this one is incredibly different than any other. With whether we are going back in person or staying virtual, my incoming scholars will need resources and supplies to help instruction and learning take place, regardless of location. The scholars I serve are from low-income families. Often times my scholars have seen and dealt with traumas. Our school community is working hard to build relationships between school-home-businesses to work together to educate and grow our scholars.
Knowing this group of scholars from seeing them at school every day last year, this group of scholars are eager and thrive when they have the resources available to them.
I already know this group of scholars will be the most special group of kids I have taught in my career. Building a family community and a safe place will be crucial. We will embark on this school year together.
My Project
These materials will make an incredible difference in my scholars' learning. With the uncertainty of today's world, it is even more important for me to help ensure my scholars have the tools necessary to promote success. From the headphones to the index cards, these supplies will help support the learning of my scholars both virtually and when it is safe to be back in the classroom.
With this year bringing a mix of virtual, hybrid, and face-to face instruction as a blend of possibilities, it is imperative that scholars are minimally stressed and not worried about not having the tools to be successful, but rather free to focus on their learning and success this year.
With so many unknowns, one thing is known. Scholars today need a village more than ever to find support and guidance through this year.
