My Students

Our students are sponges waiting to know their worth and waiting to be filled up with excitement for learning! We live in the southern most city in Florida and are a small blip on the radar between Miami and the Keys. Our kids are diverse. They represent many cultures and all have the need to be poured into and encouraged along with given the opportunity to be surrounded with literature.

My Project

We will be funding the Accelerated Reader project through our PTO encouraging students to become reading ninjas. We want kids to constantly be engaging with books whether it is paper books or ebooks. We want kids to love, absolutely love reading. One of the skills they lack as they read is the proper intonation and inflection as well as fluency. Headsets for their computers as they listen to ebooks would be extremely helpful for this project. We can work to reach a goal to earn their own headsets. This will help us create little learning areas for them to go and quietly fall along with a good book.
