My Students

My 24 Kindernauts are a curious group of young learners. They attend a Title I school that embraces diversity, inclusion, and academic opportunities for all. I want to incorporate more STEM activities into their day, even though they have to practice social distancing within the classroom.

My students are an impressive group of budding scientists, inventors, engineers, and mathematicians.

They deserve to have access to STEM opportunities in the classroom to spark their curiosity and creativity. Imagine a place where every student is invited to wonder, investigate, and create. Gifting each student their own STEM Bin will afford them that opportunity.

My Project

As stated on the hand2mind website, “each preassembled kit encourages individualized, hands-on, maker exploration.” In addition, these kits will allow my students to engage in STEM activities safely at their tables.

The individual STEM Bins will encourage my students to foster creativity and inquiry as they become inventors and problem solvers.

For example, students will use task cards, snap cubes, pattern blocks, and Play-Doh to build bridges and houses. Students will also use their own set of maker materials during Math, Free Choice Time, and as early finishers for open-ended exploration. My Kindergarteners will be thrilled to explore STEM concepts as they build and play throughout the day.
