My Students

My students are amazing kids who face many challenges both at home and at school. My students all have various disabilities, but they don't let their disabilities hold them back.

All of my students are unique, but one thing is the same in each of them: they love to learn!

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and face many challenges before even entering our school. We work together everyday to overcome those challenges and reach new heights. I work with about seventy-five, special education students every week, reaching kids with various disabilities. My students love to move, explore, and play.

My Project

It is no secret- our kids need social and emotional support now, more than ever. We all do. There isn't a better way to teach these skills, and to let children know that they aren't alone in having BIG feelings, than books!

My children love books and love being read to and books covering topics like self-regulation, emotions, taking turns, apologizing and being the best you- are a much needed addition to our library!

These books are tried and true teachers of all sorts of skills, like how to use our breath to help us return to calm, how to apologize, take turns, recognize emotions and communicate our needs to others. Even more importantly, these books will allow my students to see themselves in the books we read at school, helping them to gain skills and to know that we all have BIG feelings and we all need a little help sometimes!
