We All Learn Differently

Help me give my students sensory outlets. Our goal is to give our special education students the sensories they need to focus in class. We are all different and we all learn in different ways. We need in-class storage, seat sacks, wiggle stools, chair bands, and sensory tools.

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are a special education classroom and we understand that everyone learns differently. Some of our students struggle to stay still in typical classroom chairs. Our goal is to give them flexible seating like wiggle stools and chair band so they can focus on their classroom work while meeting their needs. We also selected a couple of sensory learning tools to help our students struggling with fine motor. The items selected will help guide math and letter recognition. The cabinet selected is to store the student's sensory toys and classwork. Sometimes a lot is going on in our classroom and it can be very overwhelming. We have learned if we can help teach students to organize items and classwork it makes routines easier and distortion less. Just as we all have our special spot so do the items in our classroom. This also teaches students how to stay organized and apply it to their everyday lives. Our students are the reason we come to work smiling every day. They have the biggest hearts and they deserve to learn in their own unique ways.
