My Students

My goal is to engage students with exciting lessons and assessments while implementing skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. Reading and searching for information are two of those key skills that students need to acquire in a fun way at a young age. That's just what I plan to do!

I have a wonderful group of thirty 4th grade students!

They are full of energy, seeking engaging tasks, and developing a love for education. As their teacher, it is important for me to ensure that their energy is put towards a good use, they are filled with engaging tasks that help ignite their love and passion for what they are learning, and guide them in developing that love for school and learning.

My Project

Since reading, searching for information, writing, and verbal presentations are all key skills that children will continue to use throughout their education, I use my time with them to develop these skills. The wax museum project allows students to interact with different texts and search for key information regarding the person they have chosen. Afterward, they write about their individual and dress up to give a presentation. However, too often the students cannot find books at the library to aid them in their search, whether it be because they are not checked in or they do not have children level biographies on the person. I want to provide the opportunity for students to have a wide variety of these texts right in our classroom library. These "Who Was" books are a great informational text source and provide students with an engaging text that aids them in searching for key facts about their chosen individual.

Making donations will help my classroom and students in many ways.

First, I would have these books not only for this year's students but also for all the students in years to come. Therefore, it would not only make an impact on these thirty children but hundreds more. The children will be impacted in many ways. They will also build essential skills on reading, writing, researching, and presenting. Most importantly, they will be engaged and further expand their love for education and learning.
