My Students

Being the computer teacher is a great way to gain insight into the individual creative side of my students. They often have questions about applying technology to an idea and how to make it real. I would like to give them that opportunity.

Parents are hardworking and want the best for their kids.

My students are from Pre-K to fifth grade. The students are smart, funny and very passionate about being creative with technology. They often come up with ideas or solutions to class projects that I wouldn't have imagined. That's their best characteristic.

My Project

Having taught technology for years, I have noticed that my artistic student don't feel like it's for them. The Sphero robots can help with that problem. Imagine having a robot that is actually waterproof! Yeah, it can go in the pool and do tricks, but it can also be dipped in a can of paint. Imagine a technology class where even painting can teach coding. I can show my students how to program the robot to paint. Computer programming and art can be a team! Gone are the days that liquid and electronics don't mix!

I have been working on turning our old library into a makerspace.

While that is great, I realized that some of my artistic students don't have an outlet in that space. I've notice that there exists a bias in our country that says artists aren't good at academics. I've even noticed my students that are artists say they don't need school. Your donation will help me show them that computer programming and art can be beautiful while complementing each other.
