Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a wonderful and vibrant 6th-8th grade art class in the heart of a high poverty area. We pride our selves in producing high standard work, yet we need additional supplies. My students love art supplies that aid in self expression, but it is difficult to obtain them. Please help them open a world of possible through these supplies. These students are incredibly hard workers and top performers in the area. They are captivated by technology and real world applications through literacy and visual arts.

Although we are a phenomenal school, it is incredibly hard to keep up with the individual supply needs of every student.

Therefore, we attempt to create a sense of continuity through sharing art supplies and utilizing technology as much as possible. These students are grateful and become overwhelmed to know that outsiders are interested in meeting their needs!!!!!!

My Project

They are excited about color and creating winter projects with water color. Many of my students have never used water colors before. Projects such as; creating snowflakes, winter towns, and greeting cards will be created. Many of the projects will then be extended into competitions that the students can compete in against other schools. Currently, we do not have any watercolors.

The greeting cards from these water colors will be donated to our local retirement homes.

Many of these residents do not get visitors, thus it will create a connection for my students by showing them that art can help others.
