My Students

My students must conduct many labs that require distilled water. The deionized water allows the students to conduct experiments without having to worry about the contaminants that could be in the ordinary tap water they are using for the experiment.

I teach in a gifted program that is part of a magnet theme in an urban district in Illinois.

The majority of my students are enrolled in free and reduced lunch programs. The students in my class are from diverse backgrounds and the program they are enrolled in is technically a school within a school.

My Project

This distiller will change the way my students do labs. We presently use an old de-ionizer that is starting to malfunction. We need to do labs that use distilled water. The most effective and economical way for us to do this is to distill the water in class. This piece of equipment will allow us to do this process effectively and easily.
