My Students

I serve children in pre-kindergarten with special needs and developmental delays. These little ones are just entering the academic environment and learning the fundamental skills in order to become successful in school. Each of my students has unique strengths and needs and benefit from a multi-sensory approach to learning.

My students have unique needs, demonstrating difficulty responding to information coming from within their bodies and environment.

My students require appropriate means and tools to help them regulate their bodies in order to develop an adaptive response so they can participate and thrive at school.

My Project

These water painting boards will help our students build their writing and literacy skills, imagination through art, and relieve anxiety. Water Play provides hours of rich and valuable early childhood experiences to develop children’s creativity and imagination. Water play is both enjoyable and educational. It helps children develop eye-hand coordination and math and science concepts. It also enhances social skills and encourages cooperation. It’s an amazing sensory experience and also helps master the pincer grip which will enable them to hold a pencil correctly at school. Imagine the discussions you can have asking what they are doing.

Imagine then, the number of new words they will learn while having fun with water and having conversations about it!
